An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join full time in the Generic / Neurodevelopmental Community CAMHS Service with this client. The post holder will contribute to the provision of a specialist and multi-disciplinary community based Child and Adolescent Mental Health service. The holder will develop sound working relationships with other professionals including the Local Authority, schools and GPs.

This heart of this role is in offering help to children and young people up to their 18th birthday who are experiencing mental health difficulties and their families. The service is based in the community offering outpatient appointments, and is accessed via GP’s or other professionals working with young people who may refer directly into the service.

The Generic / Neurodevelopmental Service CAMHS Team provides a comprehensive range of assessment and therapeutic interventions, and consultation to professionals dealing with children, young people and families with emotional and behavioral difficulties, as well as providing assessment and treatment for Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Clinical, Educational, Leadership, Management functions are all included in the role.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Listed on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register or eligible to register within six months
  • Extensive clinical experience of working with children and adolescents
  • Capacity to respond positively to the changing NHS environment
  • Experience of QIPP Activity
  • Experience of Safeguarding Children framework
