Responsibilities
- The Technical Sales Engineer leverages their knowledge of Sterling’s services, and technical expertise, to engage current and potential clients; understanding their needs and recommending solutions
- This position performs a variety of functions including, but not limited to, project scoping, proposal writing, tracking activity in SalesForce and producing Sales reports
- The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting business development goals through daily sales activities, pre-sale support, and other efforts to maintain and expand the track record of growth
- Drive and manage relationships with existing and potential clients
- Actively source sales leads
- Maintain and update customer relationship management (CRM) databases
Qualifications
- A successful candidate is a self-starter with an understanding of engineering services (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.), a passion for delivering results and contributing to our overall sales goals
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g. engineering, math, computer science, physics)
- Experience in a fast-paced business environment with an ability to adapt quickly to change
- 2+ years Pre-sales/solutions engineering experience within life science environments: pharmaceutical, bio pharma, or med device
- 2+ years Salesforce experience
- Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills
